Reaching the World
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying. All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost; Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” – Matthew 28:18-20
The God-given mission of the church, and therefore, of this local church, is outlined in the Great Commission, given above. We are to teach, baptize, and then teach again.
The great commission in Acts 1:8 KJV, tells us to go into all the world and be witnesses. We take this commission very seriously at our church. We also believe that is our responsibility to reach out to our neighbours. We have street ministry, visitation, literature distribution and other ways that we try to accomplish this great calling. There is a place to serve here at Lighthouse Baptist Church Arbroath.
